Lara Hansen is chief scientist for WWF’s International Climate Change Program and founding director of its EpiCenter of Climate Adaptation and Resilience Building. Since 1990 she has directed research on the biological effects of global change, focusing on the redesign of conservation strategies to incorporate responses to climate change. She has been the principal investigator on many studies to assess the effects of climate change and evaluate possible adaptation strategies. She is also the lead author/editor of Buying Time: A User's Manual for Building Resistance and Resilience to Climate Change in Natural Systems and the creator of WWF’s Climate Camp for eco-region defense strategies against climate change.
