Dennis Dimick is the executive editor of National Geographic. Previously, he served as the magazine’s environment editor and continues to lead its coverage of energy and climate issues. He joined the National Geographic staff in 1980, and before that worked for the Louisville Courier-Journal and several newspapers in the Pacific Northwest. He has served as picture editor for a dozen National Geographic books, including The Company We Keep, a book on the Endangered Species Act. The recipient of many picture editing and environmental journalism awards, he has also served as a project advisor for University of Missouri journalism graduate students.
