Michael Jenkins is the president and CEO of Forest Trends. Previously, he served as a senior forestry advisor to the World Bank and associate director for the Global Security and Sustainability Program of the MacArthur Foundation, which included all grant-making in Latin America and the Caribbean. He also worked as an agroforester in Haiti with the USAID agroforestry outreach program. Prior to that, he was a technical advisor to Appropriate Technology International, a Washington-based development organization. A former Peace Corps volunteer in Paraguay, he is the author of The Business of Sustainable Forestry: Strategies for an Industry in Transition.
